Ild like to swap the stock out but I also would prefer getting it switched over to a detachable magazine. I know theres DM conversion kits, Ive researched some of them However, Im wondering if there is a decent aftermarket stock that I can buy thats drop in ready and comes with the DM kit??

If so, Ild appreciate any recommendations that I could look into. Or do I need to buy the stock and the conversion kit seperately? Im looking for a stock thats drop in ready I really dont want to do any kind of inletting or anything along those lines.

If thats the case Ill just buy the stock and switch to DM at a later date with a conversion kit. So pretty much I have three basic questions: I really dont like it.

I love leupolds glass, much sharper but cant stand their windage and elevation adjustments with the slots.

Preferably Ild like a x or greater, 50mm, and tactical adjustment knobs dont mind screw off caps as long as the knobs are turn ready, the leupold slot adjustments I cant stand. Ji, Regardless of what stock you get, I don't think you'll find one that will just drop in and be ready to shoot. A lot of stocks say they are drop ins but 9 times out of 10 they are not!

I had this problem with a stock I bought. They told me for sure it would be drop in ready, not even close! All Smith's that I have talked to, one of whom is one of the top armorers in the nation preach that you should always have the action and barrel mated to the stock.

In other words you really need to have the rifle bedded and free floated. If not your accuracy will suffer. There might be a few acceptions but I haven't heard of anyone on this forum have a drop in stock and not have to bed it in the end.

All rifles and stocks are different, even the same models have minute differences. Just something to think about.

If you do find a stock that drops in and gives you good accuracy then great! Post that stock cause others would probably love that info. Thanks for the input, after reading all day on this matter.

I have decided to go ahead and spend every available dollar on optics, that I can afford to now, and keep the stock SPS stock for the moment, even though its inferior. I believe my skill level will be the bottleneck in accuracy at this point anyway and since the age old addage is always buy the best glass possible I think I will go that route and swap the stock when I can afford too.

So with that decided Ild really like to get a scope that would allow me yard elevation adjustment. I though tabout the bushnell elite tact, but it sounds like its just pushing the edge for getting a. The gun will be an all purpose gun, Ild love to do some target and long distance accuracy shooting, but certainly hunting is a huge priority. THanks in advance guys, could really use some opinions on this!!

You give two differant price ranges. Mele also did reviews on them too. I also have one of the Falcons with the Mil-dot reticle but they have differant reticles too.

It been decent for me. I will be buying a Nightforce next Feb or March.

Dont worry Mele I will be getting ahold of you Mele for prices: I know I gave 2 prices there, I am a little all over the board right now I admit. I did return the Nikon Monarch yesterday. I am completely second guessing what I prevously though my decision was. The more reading I do, the more I realized I need to do more reading. The more product options it gives is a bonus too. Eventually I do have plans of taking this rem and getting that new stock, detach mag conversion, and probably a trigger job and new barrel.

I DO NOT want to build a rifle, then as my skills increase find out my equipment is the weak link or that I would rather have something else. My apologies to the board I was pretty premature in posting this thread, as I realize I need to take my time on this scope purchase Im certainly open to any opinions or any input anyone would like to give.
